West Paw and Massive Studios partnered to develop and operate a new and expansive e-commerce experience together with Point-of-Sale Solutions, Packaging and Product Development, Catalog Design, Tradeshow Environment, and Brand Messaging.

The new West Paw site features a comprehensive selection of pet beds, toys, apparel, and accessories. While packaging and point-of-sale solutions echo in theme the strategic messaging found online. Additionally, “green” considerations play a large role in all media development, from PLA plastics involved with packaging to 100% Recycled paper involved with all offset printing.

The website and online store launched in the second quarter of 2006 to immediate success. Packaging design has also been successful and differentiated West Paw from competitors by clear brand messaging and earth friendly design. All communication channels for West Paw now carry consistent content extending the brand to target audiences.

Adventure Medical Kits is the leader in the outdoor industry for medical aid and emergency kit manufacturers. The company was originally founded in 1983 by two doctors, has a rich history and professional understanding of medical needs and solutions for the outdoors enthusiast.

Adventure Medical Kit’s success in a niche market quickly attracted strong competition. New manufacturers in the industry intentionally diffused brands and ultimately watered down the value of AMK’s strength in the marketplace.

To begin Massive Studios began to differentiate certain AMK products by their usefulness for particular outdoor activities, making it easy for consumers to identify a product’s design and intention. We then created the “Be Safe” brand reminder and began to develop a infrastructure of tips and tricks to associate with the “Be Safe” messaging. The tips and tricks would reinforce AMK’s comprehensive brand and product line and carry insightful recommendations for medical advice and would be found on AMK’s website, in point-of-sale signage and literature, as well as packaging and catalog design. In addition to small brand identifier vehicles, we also began to redesign all of AMK’s packaging to better communicate the medical application and appropriateness of AMK products directly to the consumer. Product design and product naming was collaborated on with new emergency kits lines to create and expand upon new market opportunities.

Upon the launch of the newly designed and branded S.O.L. survival pak, American Rifleman gave it their Editors Choice for 2007. Shelf velocity remained strong and through ‘07 and ‘08 and the S.O.L. has become the strongest selling survival pak in the outdoor industry spurring line extension with the new design of the S.O.L 3 pak just debuted in ’08.
Overall brand comprehension and product application in the market has aided AMK to branch into the new “travel” oriented products aimed at the world traveler and third world/ developing countries.
